new new new.

Today I introduced a new addition to my running life...

Newtons!

These are supposedly great shoes for mid-foot runners and many people who have worn them have said that these shoes help reduce the pain they used to feel when they were running... And the science behind them is really cool, if you know anything about Sir Isaac Newton and his laws of motion. The Newton Running website explains it, if you don't remember much from high school science class:

Newton's third law of motion states that whenever one object exerts a force on a second object, the second object exerts an equal and opposite force on the first. This law explains that a runner is able to move forward because of the equal and opposite force the ground exerts on the runner's foot after each step.

Considering my experience with running injuries, I figured it couldn't hurt to try these, and when I hit up the Colorado Running Company today and tested a number of other shoes against the Newtons, these felt so different, and they are obviously lighter than normal running shoes.

I still have to work my way into these, and I'm still battling sore legs, but I'm excited. This is going to be fun, like running should be!

Have any of you tried Newtons? What do you think?
