time is flying by.

It's hard to believe it's already mid-September. Almost fall. Almost time to resign my apartment lease (or, God forbid, find another place to live and move to, if my rent blows up). Almost time for sweatpants and jackets and warmer clothes for cooler weather.

Fall is my favorite time of year. This is probably because I'm from Michigan, where fall means trips to the cider mill and hay rides (maybe) and trick-or-treating in a winter coat. And the leaves change colors. Spectacular colors. Like this photo (from a Michigan photo blog, by jacalynsnana):

I miss leaves that look like this. The leaves look like this in Colorado. For about a day. But anyway.

Fall makes me think it's time to go back to school (I'm not). It's time to eat soup or curl up under a blanket or check out a bunch of books from library and read them on a Saturday afternoon. Pumpkins. Pies. That kind of thing.

What's your favorite part of fall? Don't blink - time is flying by.

  1. I love fall, too. Michigan is one the best places in the fall. Franklin Cider Mill is a favorite.
